Behind the Scenes at CRE-eight: Custom Mirrors & Apparel Made in Southland
Welcome to our Southland workshop, where creativity and craftsmanship come together. At CRE-eight we handcraft every mirror and apparel piece from start to finish. Let us take you behind the scenes.
Our process begins with inspiration. We gather Māori motifs, native flora and fauna and translate these into detailed line drawings. Our team then prepares the glass or fabric. For mirrors, we cut and polish each panel and add LED components. For apparel, we source premium cotton and nylon-spandex blends designed for comfort and durability.
When it’s time to print, we rely on high-resolution UV printers to transfer artwork directly onto glass and fabric. Each mirror is printed with vibrant, scratch‑resistant ink and assembled with a custom frame and optional backlighting. Our clothing items are printed or embroidered using eco-friendly inks and threads.
Quality control is key. Every piece is inspected for accuracy, colour, finish and overall feel before it is packaged. We package our products with recyclable materials and include care instructions so they arrive safely and can be enjoyed for years.
By keeping our production in Southland, we support our local community and ensure every item meets our high standards. Thank you for supporting our small team and for bringing a piece of New Zealand craftsmanship into your home.
